Welcome to SALIS - 2023...

The Central Library, National Engineering College and the Society for the Advancement of Library and Information Science (SALIS) join together once again to organize a three-day National Conference on “Revitalizing Libraries in Google Generation” including a pre-conference tutorial on “Moodle: Open Source Learning Management System” from 12th October 2023 to 14th October 2023. It is a happy occasion for all of us to interact with the participants.

The SALIS 2023 organizing committee extends a warm welcome to the target participants of pre-conference tutorials and the main conference – LIS professionals, students, research scholars, IT professionals, knowledge workers and managers, information specialists, content managers, educationists and faculty members.

The behaviour of library users in the Google Generation has drastically changed in recent years. Therefore, Libraries must introduce advanced technologies and provide global knowledge resources to revitalize their services to the Google Generation. This would help libraries deliver services to their digital patrons using new platforms, interfaces, and delivery channels.

Libraries and Librarians play a vital role in organizing and communicating knowledge to digital users. One of the most pressing issues facing today is how to revitalize library services to serve the digital natives. The conference aims to discuss, deliberate and provide a solution to address the issues.
